The story behind
The Brick
Years ago, the SCCA corporate headquarters moved from Denver to Topeka. The SCCA decided they would sell commemerative engraved bricks, to place in a wall or walkway, with the message of your choice, for a fee. The motion was made to purchase a brick for the SoWeLa region. But what would it say? Someone popped off with "Sowela, the best region in Louisiana next to Delta". Another member, who really wishes I'd forget this, muttered under his breath "Delta sucks." Which quickly became a motion on the floor for another brick. So with a trip to Home Depot, some duct tape, and about an hour with a sand blaster, the Brick was born.
I awarded it to Keith Wicker at the year-end party, as he was the R.E. that year. It's been passed around a bit and eventually wound up rattling around in the cone trailer (Hence, the beat up look). I've since rescued it, cleaned it up, and plan on having it at the 50 year party.
